Okay.. we’ll be leaving SUPER early tomorrow and will be on the road for.. oh, probably 13-14 hours. What fun! Here’s to hoping the dvd player will make it that long..

So I’ll not be online.. Will check back on Thursday, and will be in Phoenix by then.. well, crossing our fingers for a smooth trip.

This week has been interesting.. On Sunday, Grace bit her tongue so hard that I seriously thought we were going to need to take her to an urgent care center. It’s pretty wrong to ever see that much blood steaming out of your childs’ mouth. But in the end, she seemed fine and we decided to wait and see how she was doing on Monday before calling a doc or anything.

But she finally let us put Bo into the wash! Those of you familiar with her bear know that she’s had him since she was 6 months old. As she’s gotten older she’s gotten more attached and most of the time refuses to let us bathe him! So, he gets really gross and dirty. I finally asked her if maybe Bo would like a new outfit for our trip. She said yes, and I told her that he would need a bath first. So that worked. She was very brave about it, although towards the end of his cycle in the dryer is when she bit her tongue and really needed him. Luckily he was just about done.

So we took the whole family off to the mall for the afternoon. Wow was it busy! All the stores are trying to jumpstart the holiday shopping with sales.. We took advantage of some of that because Chris and I both needed some things. We let the girls play in the germ pit, I mean the play area.. and we had lunch and bought Bo a fishing outfit.

Before we knew it, Monday was here and I know it’ll be fast-forward for a couple days. Tomorrow, super early, we are all going to pile into our fuel-efficient hybrid and drive to Phoenix. Hopefully in one day.  We know it can be done.. we’ve just never been able to do it with kids. But we’re hoping to get out at like.. 4am. So that *maybe* (crossing fingers) the girls will sleep for a couple hours. Then, we’ll take a lunch break and let the girls run around somewhere, and pile back in the car for the remainder of the trip.

We’re really looking forward to this trip. Chris will be bringing his bike and I’m looking forward to getting together with friends and family and just being back in Arizona.
